More Purple
In a show of purple solidarity, Reina has begun her own blog off of my site. She is the Dolmere to my Coal, as it were. This is most assuredly an attempt to counteract their darkness with some purple perfection.
Live @ The Shelter in Exile – Part II
Last week we had our first live music event at the Shelter in Exile. The build itself seemed to go over pretty well, but most importantly, Frogg and Jaycatt were awesome. Here are a few pics from that event:
Just yesterday we had our second concert, this time Cylindrian Rutabaga was our performer. Again, an excellent concert. More pics:
(Vanity side-note: Frogg showed up and said I was his kind of people after I made a particularly geeky comment. Yay!)
Next Wednesday we have Mel Cheeky lined up. Woohoo!
Now I'll take a moment to say my thanks. Thanks to all the Shelter folks for making this such a success! There are a few in particular who I'd like to say thanks to, though. First of all, Coal Nelson for not only donating the land, but living through the hell that is setting up repeaters so everyone could hear everyone. It's probably the most overlooked aspect of the build and the most complex. Thanks, Coal.
Thanks, too, to Dolmere Talamasca for spearheading this and lining up the acts. Bringing live music to new folks, and keeping the venues free.
Thanks also to Sumar Morgan and Reina Quine for adding the finishing touches, such as providing a means to dance while you're there. It's the details that matter, and so do they.
And thanks again to everyone that's come out and enjoyed the fun. It wouldn't mean anything if there wasn't anybody enjoying it.
dolTunes
A while back I created a website for Dolmere to allow him to post up his musical playlist to a website. The site would then allow others to click on songs, which would then send the request to him inside the SL world. What I put together for him was very quick and very dirty. Well it was time for a facelift. Dolmere has asked me in the past for a few enhancements, such as a search capability and paging (because there are a lot of songs in his library). I, of course, have felt guilty for not giving that site much love and for pushing off any enhancements for long, but Dolmere has been patient throughout it all. Well, I finally took some time to give that site a facelift. I present to you, dolTunes.

As you can see, I pulled my inspiration (no no no, I didn't *steal* that look, I merely was inspired by it) from iTunes. We're both Mac people, so I thought it fitting. You've got your search, the ability to view by first letter of Song, Artist, or Album, paging, and even a nifty little "now playing" section at the top.
I'm pretty happy with it. Dolmere seems to like it, which is good since I didn't ask before making it.
