A couple of days ago I made a posting about how I'd received all kinds of traffic to Mera Art since the infamous wreck pictures. In a fit of genius I managed to delete that posting, however. *sigh* Anyway, the wreck has since been cleared do to our excellent insurance policy which covers "muscle-car's creating a drive-through where there wasn't one previosly." I also made mention that I'd left the Mentor group finally. I don't think LL really cares about the quality of helping new folks, just that someone is available to answer the odd question or two. Well as much as I love helping, I work in a RL job that fosters mediocrity, so I don't need to subject myself to the same thing in SL.

That being said, I've found new challenges in SL which will make my volunteer & social time much more limited, so it all works out.

Also, Mera Art was never fully completed, although it was close to it. The amount of traffic received was quite odd to me as I'd never posted its location, nor had it searchable in SL. I guess I should see if anyone was linking to it from their website.

*IF* you were linking to the place, could you take it down? Not that I don't appreciate the traffic, but right now everyone that tries is going to get an "access denied" message. Why, you ask? Because the whole build is gone and the parcel has been made restricted access. Yes, it will be back. I've got wondrous plans for something new, improved, and very cool. I just need to find the time to do it. Until then, though, the land is locked up. Sorry everyone. I'll let you know when the doors have been reopened, though.

Groups and Grouping

We recently received the long awaited group updates in Second Life. This means that instead of 15 groups, we can now have up to 25 groups. Also, because of the new roles and abilities within groups, it has meant that some groups could be consolidated. A day or two after the new structure came to be, I actually ended up with less groups than before. I did expect, however, to see an influx of people creating new groups. In fact, I seriously considered creating one my own self. But I thought better of it. This is not to say that the excitement around all of this isn't justified, but just like receiving blink tags, just because you can make a new group doesn't mean you should.
