Challenge #13 has been posted, courtesy of Vint Falken. This time around it's to tell secrets! Similar to Dolmere, I was unsure of this one. Not so much because of the dealings with secrets, but because I think the challenges are falling a bit away from their initial intent, or at least as I understood it. So come on, folks, let's make an SL challenge. I'm tired of talking about myself, I do that enough as it is.

But anyway, back to the topic at hand. Step one is to reveal something about our second life that nobody or just a few of our closest friends may know. Well that's pretty wide open as I don't really expect anyone to know anything about me except for my friends. Perhaps I should just say I like purple. You heard me! I said it! Hmmm. Well maybe that's not enough. I've considered going into *why* I love purple, but that's a secret for later.

SL Secret

Maybe this will be more interesting. It's not so much a secret, but it's something not many yet know. I've been working in Second Life for a company called Beta Technologies. During my time with this company, I was called upon to put a team together to kick out a fairly large project in a short amount of time. That team quickly picked up the nickname, "Team Purple". The project that Team Purple worked on was for Saxo Bank, and we did a great job. For a while I'd been kicking around the idea of going solo/freelance/whatever you want to call it. Thanks to a little pushing from one of the teammembers, this is now happening. Team Purple is real, and ready for work. There are a bunch of "administrative" things that need to be done (see incomplete website), and I'm buried in about five different projects at the moment, and there is work on the horizon, and it most often feels like trudging through the desert and the horizon is just the next dune away, but hey, it's something! Special thanks goes to the members of Team Purple, Merle Widget, Rose Farina, and Jacek Antonelli for their support and very little snickering.

FL Secret

Ok, step two of this challenge was to reveal something about our real selves. I confess I was surprised that Dolmere revealed anything here, but since he did, I guess I should as well. There's a whole bunch of things I could say here, but I'll go with the not-a-secret secret as it's not something I've kept hidden, but I've not really gone around talking about either. My friends know and that's all that's mattered to me, really.

The dude driving Mera is, in fact, a dude. The fact that only my friends read this will basically invalidate this as a real revelation, but there ya go anyway. Personality – me. Loving purple – me. Enjoying shopping – me. Gender – reverse.
